Let me introduce myself
I’m Poppy, a British-born globetrotter. My father was in the Royal Air Force and my parents loved living in other cultures. We lived in England, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Kenya, where I met my American husband, Jim.
Since marrying, I’ve lived in the United States, ministering extensively in this country and overseas. The Lord has given me a heart to encourage women from every culture, and especially for those who struggle with experiencing God’s love and acceptance in life’s tough places.
Following God’s leading has resulted in many challenging and interesting opportunities to serve. These have included teaching in Bible Study Fellowship, working in a domestic violence shelter, hospital chaplaincy, women’s ministry, and spiritual growth programs for missionary/global workers as well as key-noting events overseas for nationals and expatriates.
I’ve also deepened my own life and ministry through acquiring a Masters in Spiritual Formation and Direction.

I thrive on speaking to women of all ages and cultures because all of us need God’s power to live a life worthy of Him! From retreats to conferences to seminars to special events, I’m passionate about applying scripture so attitudes, words, hearts and lives are changed—as I’ve experienced.

I am not one of those women who always longed to write, but a pastor told me that my writing would reach far more people than my speaking. So I wrote! And now have books and Bible studies published by Bethany House, Waterbrook Press, and Harvest House.
You may find an overview of my books on my Books page.
I write a short blog post twice a month as part of my passion to encourage women to grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally.
