HOW HAS GOD MADE YOU DIFFERENT?

“There are different kinds of gifts… different kinds of service…different kinds of working,  but the same God works all of them in all men” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6.I have a friend who loves digging into Scripture, cross-referencing topics for hours, and highlighting the names of God in every chapter she reads.  Does that sound like you? Or are you more like my other friend who says she just wants to turn up at her study group without having to read anything? We are different in gifts, service, working, aptitude, energy, and personality. Believing this allows us to look for the ways that draw us personally, closer to God. Accepting that we respond differently also keeps us from judging and comparing ourselves with others.

In her helpful book, Your Spiritual Personality, author Marita Littauer says,

“Each personality approaches their spiritual life in its own way.

The key principle is that understanding my spiritual personality

helps me realize why certain spiritual exercises always come easier

and make more sense to me.”

Discovering what makes you tick as a unique individual is enlightening. And it will allow you to breathe a huge sigh of relief when you realize that you are who you are, and apologies aren’t necessary!
