Show a Missionary You Care! {Thrive This Summer}

Show a Missionary You Care with these tips (PoppySmith.com)

“The State Department has confirmed that one U.S. citizen died from Ebola in Nigeria after being infected in Liberia. Two other American aid workers infected with Ebola - Dr. Kent Brantly and missionary Nancy Writebol - are in serious condition, but have shown slight improvement.They were part of a team in Liberia from North Carolina-based Christian relief groups Samaritan's Purse and SIM.” (Source: Christian Medical and Dental Association)

Global Workers: Many of you know that ministering to global workers (once called "missionaries") has been part of God’s wonderful blessing to me and my husband over many years. In May, I spent two weeks in Greece sharing God’s word with women who serve Him throughout Africa and in other high-risk countries.At the time, none of us thought about EBOLA, but today my heart and prayers are with Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, their families and friends. Please pray for them.

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation” Isaiah 52:7

  • Do you know a missionary? Missionaries are often forgotten after they leave home—and yet that is when they most need to know they are loved.
  • Are you in touch with those you know? This week would be a good time to get in touch. Get in touch by email, or Skype or even a phone call.
  • Do your children know what they do? Where they live? What their living situation is like? Help them Google a map, research details, and tell the family what they have learned, then pray for them.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” Luke 10:2.

To thrive in the Spirit this summer:Thrive This Summer!

Invite a missionary to your home. Don’t know one? Call your church office and ask!

If they’re available—have a simple picnic or barbecue. Ask them about their daily life. Pray for them and say “Thank You for serving Jesus.”
