The constant parade of unfaithful spouses spotlighted on television, the web, and in print media never ends.  Moral unfaithfulness to promises that were made to a wife or husband before family, friends, and God no longer seem to carry uncomfortable feelings of guilt, shame, and social stigma.  But there are other kinds of faithfulness we need to think about--faithfulness that applies to singles and marrieds, men and women.Listening to a CD of author Robin Jones Gunn (http://www.robinjonesgunn.com/) speaking at the Oregon Christian Writers conference (http://www.oregonchristianwriters.com/) recently,  I was reminded of promises I had made to God to write for Him and about Him.  But--like any  other busy person, the tyranny of the urgent (or the appeal of the easy way) eat up my time.  Instead of taking pportunities to encourage and give help and inspiration to others through writing, I rob God, and myself, of blessings He wants to pour out. This morning I was reading in 2 Corinthians 5:9--and heard another whisper from the Holy Spirit to be faithful. Paul writes: " We make it our goal to please him."That's how I want to live--whether that means reviewing how I use my time, or the talents He has given, or the resources I can share with others.  I want pleasing Him to be my daily desire.  It can happen through prayer and the surrender of my will, even in a culture that tells me I am number one and deserve whatever  makes me happy. In my next blog I'll share with you nine promises God has made to us--which He has no problem keeping because He is always faithful to what He says!Think about a promise or commitment you've made to God. Are you being faithful to it, or has it faded from your mind in the busyness of life? I'd love to know what you are being reminded about.Poppy
