Need Something to Count On?

              Five Life-Empowering Promises!

I just got back from an appointment with my cardiologist and we're setting the date for my heart surgery in mid-May. It's exhilarating to know that as a child of God I'm loved and blessed, so instead of fear and dread, I'm flooded with joy as well as peace.  Knowing Biblical truths about God also tells me:

  • He is not surprised by this event
  • He sees every detail
  •  He gives supernatural courage to wimpy people like me
  •  He is faithful to fulfill all His purposes for our lives

This is true for you, too!

In case you're facing something hard--whether a trial, temptation, or time of confusion and pain, here are five life-empowering promises you and I can count on.  Never believe you are alone with no resources to help you--God is there and He is faithful to His word!

  • Isaiah 42:16 -- "I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them.  I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth."
  • l. Corinthians 10:13 -- "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.  And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."
  • James 4:7 -- Submit yourselves, then, to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  • Phil.4:6-7 -- Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
  • Romans 8:28 -- "And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

What promise is holding you steady in your current situation?  Would you take a moment and share it? Perhaps your verse will be the one God wants someone else to have.

Joy and peace to you,
