Want to Flourish? Here's How!

Some of you have had an email from me in the past but I wanted to invite you again to a special small group opportunity to grow in your faith and your relationship with yourself, others, and the One who made you.  This will be the fourth time I will lead a group through this comprehensive look at what it means to flourish in body, soul, and spirit.  Scripture declares that God wants us to flourish, not dry up spiritually or emotionally. Jesus made it clear in John 10:10 that to know Him and to be indwelt by His Spirit is how we experience the abundant life God intends for us.  But, what does that mean in the nitty gritty of life?  When things are hard and confusing or disappointing?  How do you manage?

This small group weekly experience allows us to share our journey up to now, and the current places we are walking through. It is always confidential, supportive, and sensitive to our individual situations. I am always excited and blessed to see who the Holy Spirit draws to a group, which is limited to 6 maximum.  Currently, we have only four openings so please get in touch quickly if you are interested or have questions or issues you'd like to discuss.

For your interest: Here is one response from a recent participant:

The study of Flourish challenged me to think about my spiritual maturity and my relationship with God. The questions I was faced with at that time, (and still am), were, ‘How is God taking care of me when my life circumstances are less than ideal?’ And, ‘What does God expect from me if I cannot control my circumstances or how I feel?’

I found some answers for myself about God’s faithfulness and unchanging character. Regardless of what is going on in my life, God does not change when my life changes. He loves me the same, His calling does not change, nor does His faithfulness. I am the one that needs to continue to grasp hold on to these truths and trust in His faithfulness and unfailing care for me, no matter what. The stronger my relationship is with God, the more I can grow in my faith.

I found every single chapter applicable to my life and learning. Two of my favorites were c. 6 Aiming for Joy and c. 4 Embracing God's Love. Just looking it over made me want to return to it and review and renew the wisdom and learning. It is one of the best studies I have been involved in. My book is terribly marked up and has notes in it to remind me of our discussions and learning. So glad you knew about this book for us all!

FLOURISH is scheduled to begin in a few weeks: Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 4 pm Pacific Time, which allows it to be at 7 pm on the East Coast. It will be divided into two ten week sessions to allow time to dig into half a chapter each week. By beginning on Sept. 23, we will finish on November 18, the week before Thanksgiving. The second ten week session will begin in January. Each session is an hour and a half. I will provide a workbook with questions to guide your reflection and application each week.

The cost of each session is $100.00. You can order the book from Amazon (it's the fastest way). On receipt of your registration/payment, I will forward the PDF workbook to you.

You can send the fee via Paypal or by check, made out to Poppy Smith. Or you can call me and give me your credit card info over the phone and I can download it and then destroy your personal info. Whichever is easiest for you. My address: 16124 NW St. Andrews Dr., Portland, OR 97229
